Showcasing all things art, culture, music, pre-loved and people, a record 20,000 + locals and tourists alike descended on the streets, shops and lakefront of Long Jetty last Sunday for the inaugural Long Jetty Festival. In the ultimate summer send off, the one-day takeover of the beautiful lakeside suburb was slated as the biggest community event to hit the Central Coast, with food vendors selling out and massive crowds enjoying the sunshine and music from The Rubens, Meg mac, Little Quirks and more.
Things got a bit sweaty in Chilli Village with our first ever Chilli eating comp, Kids were able to let loose in their very own Kiddy’s corner with music, games, wildlife presentations, face painting and temporary flash tattoos. Every man and their dog was on show enjoying the various four legged friendly Bark Park and with help from Betty’s Flea, we delivered the region’s largest ever Flea Market of pre-loved, recycled and upcycled goods.
Promoters Stephen Sewell and Matt Wise “LJF has been in the works since COVID stopped the world back in 2020. It was great to finally make it happen and what an amazing day! We were stoked to make an impact on the region and prop long jetty up by celebrating the town in true Long Jetty style - good food, great coffee, vintage wares & quality music. We've been blown away by the community support with the event a resounding success with an estimated 20,000 + people attending on Sunday. We could not have pulled the day off without the hard work from our team, the sponsors, vendors, artists, volunteers and of course everyone who came down on the weekend. Until next year!"
Event organiser Liz Hart of Hart Events commented: "Our team did an absolutely phenomenal job to deliver this epic day out for festival goers, who've been treated to an array of activities and entertainment. I couldn't be more proud of how it's come together. It's so great to see the community out and about enjoying themselves. The vibe has been high all day."
Save the date, we are busy planning next year’s instalment of Long Jetty Festival - March 10th 2024.
